The F Bar 4 Ranch is located in GMU 86, which is an over bull elk unit for 2nd and 3rd rifle seasons. Through Colorado Parks & Wildlife, landowners can apply for the Landowner Preference Program in receiving elk, mule deer and pronghorn licenses for each 160-Acre deeded increment. The Wet Mountain Valley reminds visitors of what Colorado once was, and Custer County still is. Its tranquil valley, spectacular mountains and hundreds of thousands of acres of National Forest make the county one of the most desirable for hunters, hikers, climbers, and outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds. Custer County was formed in 1877 and is the 10th smallest of the 64 counties in Colorado. The Wet Mountain Valley is famous for its unparalleled views, rural-ranching lifestyle, and endless miles of wilderness hiking trails through high-mountain meadows bursting with wildflowers and 52 alpine lakes for fly-fishing. A ride to the Great Sand Dunes is not out of the question as they are just across the mountain range to the south. The 100-Mile Rainbow Trail skirts the base of these mountains and stretches from New Mexico to Salida, Colorado. The 360-Degree views from the ranch also include the Collegiate Peaks and Pikes Peak to the north and the Spanish Peaks to the south. The famous Crestone Needles, Crestone Peak, Kit Carson Mountain and Humbolt Peak are there for your viewing pleasure. Some of Colorado's most distinguished 14'ers make up the vast backyard of the F Bar 4 Ranch. The property is directly bound on the west by the 1.1-Million-Acre San Isabel National Forest with the towering, snow-capped peaks of the Sangre De Cristo range serving as the backdrop to the ranch. The Silver Cliff Airport eight nautical miles south of Westcliffe is within a 10-minute drive from the ranch and features a 54' x 7,000' runway. Year-round access is provided by County maintained roads to the ranch gate. Westcliffe is an easy three-hour drive from Denver, 1.5-Hour drive from Colorado Springs, and 45 minutes from Canon City and Pueblo. The property is located a short distance south of Westcliffe, Colorado in the foothills of the Wet Mountain Valley. The owner brought farm fresh eggs on our first morning there.The scenic, 396-Acre F Bar 4 Ranch is an ideal fit for the big game hunter, gentleman rancher or family retreat. There are no blackout curtains and the other cabins leave their outside lights on (this may not be true all the time). If you're a light sleeper or need complete darkness, this place is not for you. If you're sitting outside enjoying the evening cool down, you'll hear the neighbors tractor for a bit and some other noises, non of which you can hear in the cabin. It was relatively quiet except for the dogs barking in the distance and the occasional cow mooing. A couple of fire rings, chairs, and garbage containers. Not kid friendly as they will get bored (not that that's a bad thing as kids need to learn to be bored sometimes). ![]() A little further down has some eatery's and such. The grocery down the road is great for getting things you need for food. The town or area is run down, not quite sketchy but doesn't feel great either. The area itself is a little less forgiving. The cabin was super dang cute though and Jeanette is very responsive when reaching out with questions or concerns. Beds were typical hotel type beds - not overly comfortable. Super clean, functioning kitchen and everything you'd need to cook with. Bryce Canyon: 2 hour-63 miles Antelope Canyon: 2 hour- 85 miles Coral Pink Sand Dunes: 10 miles Best Friends Animal Sanctuary: 35 miles Brian Head Ski Resort: 52 miles Water Canyon: 6 miles DISTANCE TO: Zion National Park: 1 hour to Zion's entrances (both). If you love to star gaze or experience a beautiful sunrise/sunset, this is the place for you. We are in a remote little town, Canebeds, Arizona, but rest assured, there is a grocery store and local mom and pop restaurants just a 5 minute drive away. This quiet area offers stunning mountain views of red rock cliffs, spectacular sunsets, but most of all, views of the night's stars! We're located in the center of 4 amazing attractions: Coral Pink Sand Dunes/Zion National Park/Bryce Canyon & the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. If you want to escape, get away from it all, come enjoy the quiet, rustic surroundings of an old ranching community. Cabin #5 is a 12' x 30' cozy space with 1 king bed, 2- 3'x7'x9' open Loft areas with a full bed in each. Cabin #5 on the LVBar Ranch is located on the beautiful Arizona Strip just south of the Utah border.
